  1. Crimereports.com Will be The Truth in Whether Unified Police Department Works or Not!

The general public is upset about the way the economy has been going with the recession. They do not want property tax increases. The population of Utah has drastically increased and will continue to do so. The calls requesting service by Public Safety Police, Fire, Emts, has also increased substantially. ****Now comes the big question; is this for cost savings or for quality of public safety, my safety as a citizen?
    ****
Living in a huge county spread out over many miles, some feel that a Unified System will work better.***There are downfalls in this theoretical concept: Helicopters are outrageously expensive. People get upset about high speed chases, and delays in responses. Crimereports.com does not list fewer crimes in recent years, there are substantially more. There are also almost daily armed robberies, home invasions, and too many car thefts and property crimes to catalog.***So are people in Draper for example safer because the fire department has shortened its staffing on a call? And for high priced home owners, will it lead to more hazardous working conditions for fire department employees and more property damage? ***********I do not picture high priced helicopters who use expensive fuel flying everywhere to cover where officers cannot quickly respond.*****Back when Utah had a budget surplus very little was dumped into resources for Utah Public Safety. Now I see budgets being stretched thinner, and to who's expense?
